Katelyn Chang

Lic.Ac. Dipl.OM

Katelyn Chang is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is nationally board-certified as a Diplomate of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She earned her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), with advanced training in both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture.

Katelyn completed clinical rotations in a variety of specialty settings. At Boston Medical Center’s internal medicine clinic, she treated patients experiencing hormone imbalances, digestive disorders, and insomnia. She was also selected for an internship at the Worcester VA Clinic’s orthopedic department, where she refined her skills in treating musculoskeletal pain through precise needling of innervation zones and electro-acupuncture techniques.

In addition, Katelyn pursued advanced postgraduate training with Dr. Chuang I-Hsing, a renowned neurosurgeon and acupuncturist who expanded upon Dr. Yamamoto’s scalp acupuncture system to develop his own methodology. This training further strengthened her ability to address complex conditions, including musculoskeletal pain, EENT disorders, sleep apnea, post-stroke recovery, whiplash injuries, and other neurological concerns.

Katelyn’s interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine began at a young age. Raised by Taiwanese parents, she grew up with holistic remedies woven into daily life. She has spent the past eight years immersed in the field of acupuncture, beginning as a clinical assistant at the Chinese American Center, where she filled herbal prescriptions and witnessed firsthand the effectiveness of acupuncture across a wide range of conditions. She later trained under two respected mentors who shaped her clinical approach, incorporating Master Tung’s style for fertility and pain management, as well as Dr. Pan’s balancing method for chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, and other internal conditions.

Known for her compassionate and empathetic nature, Katelyn has a special interest in pain management and mental health. She is committed to continual learning and has dedicated extensive time to expanding her clinical toolkit to enhance patient outcomes. She believes that education is an essential part of healing and strives to empower her patients with practical knowledge they can incorporate into daily life. Helping patients develop a deeper awareness of their bodies and prevent illness before it arises is one of her greatest passions.

Outside of the clinic, Katelyn enjoys pursuits that blend discipline and creativity. She holds a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo and practices Tai Chi and Ba Duan Jin (Qi Gong). Knitting and crocheting reflect her steady and attentive nature, while Ikebana—the Japanese art of flower arrangement—allows her to express her appreciation for balance and harmony in nature. She can also be found skiing or hiking, always eager to take in a mountain view.
