Understanding Shoulder Pain
The shoulder is one of the most mobile joints in the body, but its complexity also makes it susceptible to pain and injury. Shoulder pain may result from overuse, poor posture, trauma, or underlying conditions like arthritis. Whether the pain is acute or chronic, it can significantly impact your quality of life and limit your range of motion.
At North End Acupuncture, we take the time to understand your specific condition and develop a treatment plan that addresses both the symptoms and their root cause. By focusing on restoring balance within the body, acupuncture helps promote natural healing and long-term recovery.
How Acupuncture Can Help
Acupuncture involves the placement of fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body to restore balance and stimulate healing. For shoulder pain, acupuncture works by:
- Increasing blood flow to the affected area to accelerate recovery.
- Reducing inflammation and swelling, which alleviates discomfort.
- Relaxing tight muscles and easing tension in the shoulder joint.
- Stimulating the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers.
Whether your pain stems from a rotator cuff injury, tendonitis, bursitis, or stress-related tension, acupuncture offers a safe and effective way to relieve discomfort and restore full function.
